So, you've see the racers using strips of sand-paper like material on their tanks to get a firm grip with their legs when hanging off the bike.  The only problem with that idea is they tear the hell out of your expensive leathers!  If only you had something to help with grip, but was easy on the cowhide.  Welcome to the GRIPSTER by Tech Spec-USA!

The Gripster comes in a single sheet with plenty of material for both sides of your tank with a little left over.

Included in the package are several patterns for modern sport bikes., but I preferred to design my own. 

I started with some tracing paper on the tank, a pencil, and a straight edge.

After cutting the pattern out, I used painters tape to line the tank for the actual application.  I cleaned the area with wax and grease remover before applying the Gripster.  Alcohol will probably be fine, but you must give it a good surface to bond to.

The finished product looked great.  But looks ain't everything!

This isn't just for track use!  On the street you can take a lot of stress off your arms by gripping the tank with your legs.  No more smashing the family jewels in the tank on hard breaking.  Just tighten your leg grip a little.

The big test was track day.  I'm not one who hangs way off in the turns, but I still felt a more secure, like I had control over my position at all times.

In summary, I highly recommend this product by Tech-Spec USA.  The quality was high, and though I haven't tried it, they say you can remove it and reuse it.

They have other materials to choose from besides the Laser Etched I tested.
