Okay,
First, the instructions on TS for removal of the old HU are excellent. You do
have a few more steps if you have the double DIN unit.
See that AMP? You will need to disconnect that. At first I thought I had the
wrong wire harness, and then I realized the AMP was there. I left the AMP
installed, but unplugged the two plugs on the bottom and fed them up the back to
the new HU. Make sure you secure the harness wires coming from the AMP. You
don’t want any rattles behind the radio.
To access the connectors on the bottom of the AMP I removed the lower cowling
with the auxiliary plugs. To remove this, just push the centers of the snaps in,
and they drop right out.
Then just pull it back, it's a tight fit.
The new HU just mounts with the stock brackets to a new Pocket to fill the void
left by the stock HU. Nice place to throw some extra junk :-)
